128. Porter
A true gentlemen. He liked dining alone. I believe he would pretend his beloved-wife was once again sitting across from him. Longing to be with her again and now he is. I am left tearing up straining manhattans into chilled glasses.

I was never introduced to him, but saw him last (and somewhat recently) at the restaurant, eating ice creams sundaes across the table with another bar regular (Ed? Not sure of his name). It was kind of adorable. I was so surprised to hear that he'd died.
(Hey--is that 44 words?)
So glad you're back.
Thanks for the welcome back... Glad to be back
Yes it was Ed. Though Porter loved to dine alone he was rarely afforded that luxury.
I was lucky enough, years ago, to meet and spend time with he and his wife, Mary. Two genuine and beautiful people that made an impact on every life they touched. I feel truly blessed to have been able to know them both.
